I love that the intensity and challenge of my pre children investment banking experience is now matched by a very busy household accompanied by numerous volunteer positions. An environment constantly in growth mode appeals to my temperament. The years stepped out or stepping sideways have been and continue to be stimulating and rewarding.As my children have aged up so have my volunteer positions. Mediating playground squabbles to participating in Capital Campaigns, Parent Group leadership positions, and many other duties small and large. I enjoy, thrive and learn in my varied roles…-Connecting people who can benefit each other and their community-Making Parent Education a priority-Maximizing Charitable Giving and Community Philanthropy-Working on projects and initiatives to help improve the mental health, behavioral health, and well being of adolescents and young adults-Increasing and consistent investment return-Making “small bets”The parallels between my past corporate finance environment and my current active parenting and community roles are very similar. Both require a great deal of fast paced learning, flexibility with a varied job description, an appreciation of and skill in fund raising/ private equity financing, exhaustion and satisfaction at the end of a long day. As it turns out, encouraging participation in tranche financing for education needs is not so very different than corporate pac man merger financing.
