Sheila is a Regional Practice Director and Principal at HKS Architects. She has over 37 years’ experience in the industry, across many sectors, notably in Health and Science projects. She has successfully lead the full range of multi-disciplinary services on very large design teams. A finalist in 2023 UK Women In Construction Awards for Lifetime Achievement, Sheila has a distinct focus on delivery of innovative and complex healthcare and science-research projects. She has a special interest in Proton Beam Therapy, Radio Pharmacy and Nuclear Medicine and her unique experience of working collaboratively across many framework partnerships, gives her an invaluable understanding of the strategic issues facing leading healthcare clients. Her depth of experience brings added value in dealing with multiple personalities and managing the interactions of large project teams including Trust Management level, Estates teams, clinical leads, patient user groups, operational and support teams, infection control and FM, staff and external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, statutory approvals, research and education partners. Sheila has presented at the Healthcare Estates Building Forum, the International Proton Therapy Congress (PTCog) and the UK-China Oncology Congress and also plays an active role in the Architects for Health (AfH) organisation and is Co-Chair of the RIAI London Forum.
