The Redistricting Committee is focused on advocating for a fair, transparent process for drawing voting districts in North Carolina.

While at GSLIS, I taught LIS 403 (Evaluation of Information of Services), LIS 458 (Database Management), and LIS 469 (XML). In addition, I served on committees both within the school and across the college, as well as serving as Treasurer for the New England Chapter of the American Society for Information Science and Technology. I also worked on sponsored research projects.

Served as research assistant on NSF-funded GovStat project in partnership with several Federal statistical agencies. Conducted user study of use of metadata while searching for statistical information by both non-expert and expert users. Worked on a team that developed a metadata schema in XML for standardization of statistical terms across Federal statistical agenicies. Wrote up results of user study and schema process for scholarly publication. Gave presentations to agency partners.

Taught Introduction to Database Management at the master's level for five semesters.

Served as Assistant to the Editor for the ACM journal Transactions on Information Systems. Shepherded manuscripts from their submission to the Manuscript Central system through the process of assignment to a member of the Editorial Board, to assignment to reviewers, through the review process, through review and acceptance or rejection and eventual allocation to an issue of the journal. Served as primary point of contact for authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members for issues concerning Manuscript Central.
