Executive Director of Cornerstone Counselling I have happily spent my career in not-for-profit, human services work. I started working with families in crisis and then I moved to work with foster parents and kids-in-care. Although this work was extremely fulfilling, I wondered if I could do something more to help children, families, and individuals. In 2010, I found the challenge I was looking for and became the Executive Director of Cornerstone Counselling, a not-for-profit agency that provides affordable counselling services in the Edmonton area. Cornerstone’s philosophy is that no one should suffer alone and that as community members, we are all responsible to ease the pain of others whenever possible. Cornerstone offers professional counselling services to those who are feeling overwhelmed by a personal crisis or are struggling with a mental health issue. To ensure that counselling services are affordable, we adjust fees based on the client’s household income. I love working at Cornerstone because I know that this work has a life-changing impact on those we serve.
