The artist in me enjoys creating and editing the materials that help companies communicate effectively internally and with their clients, so when the opportunity arose, I completed my degree in Professional and Technical Writing at SJSU, and I am looking forward to beginning a new career in the content writing and editing world!I recently completed an editorial internship for the College of Humanities and Arts Marketing Team at SJSU where I authored and co-authored articles for the Expressions Newsletter and contributed to other projects and publications. At Edu-Culture Immersion (ECI), I managed all avenues of communication. I edited and created flyers, blurbs, training materials, spreadsheets, letters, and memos, as well as PowerPoint presentations and informational emails.I am a dynamic worker. My energy and insight quickly propelled me forward in every position that I held, earning me Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year awards on numerous occasions, as well as being the first employee to be promoted at two different companies, resulting in my advancement from entry-level to top management positions within only a few years in both industries. My well-honed communication skills earned in the education, food & beverage, and travel industries make me an efficient and thorough communicator--a patient, respectful and empathetic listener, team member, leader, manager, and mediator. Qualities important to me are responsibility, dependability, flexibility, kindness, compassion, integrity, and always--fun! At Edu-Culture Immersion, I connected hundreds of U.S. students with the natural wonders and cultures of Costa Rica, Spain, France, and Germany by helping to create their itineraries, booking outbound travel arrangements, and conducting meetings to prepare the students and their parents for international travel. I accompanied many groups of teachers and students to Costa Rica as their Trip Leader. I also connected thousands of international students with at least that many families here in the Bay Area by organizing, managing, and leading the inbound ECI study abroad programs. The most rewarding part of these programs was knowing that I had enabled lasting friendships between the host families and their students, providing a newfound cultural awareness for all.I am naturally very curious, so new people, places, experiences, and jobs are fun and exciting challenges for me.
