We didn’t have cable growing up so I would rush home from school, let myself into the house and watch scrambled soap operas until my parents came home from work. When my favorite soap opera “One Life to Live” was being cancelled I connected with other fans, all of whom were a good 20 years older than me, to pressure ABC from cutting the show by organizing a boycott of Hoover vacuums. We got one more season of OLTL. That was my first organizing experience and we won.I believe in people power, justice, liberation and joy. I have worked professionally at the intersection of law and organizing for the past 9 years, but live my values every day.
