From February 2009 to July 2009 served as Interim Global Chief Operating Officer where I carried out the same tasks on a global basis and completed an operational restructure that moved from geographic management focus to global functional management to ensure we leveraged best practices across geographies and products.

Asked by the Barclays Group CEO to lead and direct the effort for Barclaycard and Barclays UK Retail Bank to address historic “mis-selling” of payment protection insurance (PPI) following the outcome of the judicial review between the British Bankers Association (BBA) and the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Operated as a start-up business and grew to c4000 colleagues in 7 locations within 10 months. Led all aspects of the project including legal and regulatory, public relations and consumer communications strategy, policies and procedures, operational execution, finance, forecasting and reporting, and technology solutions for this multi-billion GBP project.
