Designed and led ocean conservation programs at an international nonprofit organization to advance ocean protection and climate action through strategic communications and behavior change campaigns.• Conducted market research, assembled, and facilitated local teams to develop and execute campaigns in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands and Hawai‘i. Funded by The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Coral Reef Conservation Program, the behavior change projects served as new models for coral conservation campaigns in US jurisdictions.• Supported in-country staff in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and Hawai‘i in their program goals through coaching, capacity building, and project management support, both in-person and virtually. • Trained government agencies, non-profits, graduate students, scientists, and village leaders in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, West Papua, Palau, and Hawai‘i in topics including: strategic communications, media relations, social marketing, messaging, and public speaking. • Co-directed multi-layered media strategy and program for the 2012 International Coral Reef Symposium in Cairns, Australia (ICRS 2012)—a 2,000+ delegate conference—by executing press-only scientist panels, daily email briefings of conference highlights, high-tech press rooms, press release amplification for participating attendees, and journalist support for subject matter interviews. • Designed, recruited, and implemented inagural 15-person competitive international journalism fellowshop program funded by WWF and USAID Coral Triangle Support Partnership for ICRS 2012.• Created national Ocean Journalism Awards for Fiji and Papua New Guinea Program Offices to increase the quality and quantity of ocean conservation and climate change stories.
