I ensure that KfW financed projects in Kenya and EAC are executed effectively and contribute to KfW's and German Government strategic goals. I coordinate multiple projects within the East Africa Community ensuring they align to KfW strategic goal. I act as a liaison between the Project Executing Agency, KfW regional offices, head office and management to facilitate communication and collaboration. I monitor and track the progress of the projects and programs, reporting and providing updates on performance and outcomes. I play a role in risk mitigation by identifying risks and challenges within the portfolio & develop strategies to mitigate them. Iam involved in data analysis around projects performance to provide insights & recommendations for improvement & future initiatives. I do stakeholder engagement by building & maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. I ensure that all projects & programs comply with relevant regulations standards and best practices.

KfW carries out strategy, financial development cooperation with developing countries on behalf of the German Federal Government.• Manage, supervise the implementing partners to ensure projects are well implemented through safety, compliance and high service levels.• Identify priorities and opportunities for KfW to finance in the different sector frameworks to improve health through water supply and sanitation.• Project manage different investments and teams and partnerships.• Manage, supervise and monitor ongoing programs in the water sector. This involves actively participating in related meetings and field visits including preparations, minutes and follow ups.• Reviewing and reporting on project related documents and reports for example tender documents, progress reports, payment certificates, and audit reports. This is done in consultation with the program manager and the engineer at the head office.• Contribute to the identification and preparation of work streams, training and new programs in the water sector. This includes participating in appraisals, feasibility studies etc.• Collaboratively monitor major developments in the sector i.e policies and institutional set ups.• Assist in reviewing and reporting on relevant sector reports from the water and related institutions and other development partners. i.e sector review, budgets etc.• Coordinate sector related issues with local partners and other stakeholders.• Represent, in coordination with the programs manager, KfW within sector working groups, donor and other technical groups and ensure visibility of KfW.• Prepare and organize KfW missions to Kenya.

Worked closely with the Program teams to prepare and execute strategy & projects of about 200M EUR. I monitored & tracked projects' progress across the program including budgets, activities/work plans, safety, adherence to procedures while managing communication& relationships between all the key stakeholders. I maintained continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and made recommendations to modify the program towards strategic intent. Through my expertise, the program achieved the set impact within the budgets. I am competent in the preparation of charity investment programs; managing costs, time, schedules, technical training and conducting socio-economic surveys.Achievements:- Successfully managed all aspects of 2 concurrent projects in terms of scope, budget, timeline, risk, quality and communication through education and training work force.- Decreased resourcing problems 20% by bringing onboard a program management support team for 1 of the projects. Due to my performance, I was promoted to a senior Program Coordinator- Through my knowledge and partnerships in the sector, a new project worth 29M EUR under a new sector and partner was acquired.- Signing of intergovernmental relations framework between the devolved government and the Ministry of water by mobilizing both levels of government to a neutral negotiating table.

WSTF is a pro-poor basket fund that financially supports improved access to water and sanitation services. Brought on board in 2007 to form a team that would steer a newly introduced urban investment program by WSTF. I managed multiple projects from program development to upscale of the program in the whole country. By the time of my departure, 150 projects at a cost of 23.5 M EUR benefiting close to 1M people had been implemented. I was responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of these multiple related projects. This involved managing charity strategy, costs, schedules, safety, quality and performance of projects while ensuring the ultimate success of the program and maintained continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and made recommendations to modify the program towards strategic intent. •Programme development: developed water supply and sanitation implementation procedures commonly known as the Urban Project Concept (UPC) and the Up-scaling of Basic Sanitation for the Urban Poor (UBSUP). This was adopted as the national blue print for implementation of pro-poor projects in Kenya and region.•Monitoring and Evaluation Systems: Played a key role in the development of a comprehensive and robust M&E systems/ tools (UPC-IS). •Program management: the development, implementation and management of the urban programme in line with the overall WSTF strategic plan, the bilateral agreements and water sector policies; ensuring proper grant management including reviewing budgetary utilization; contributing to defining strategies advancing pro-poor focus for sector wide adoption. •Contributed to defining strategies advancing pro-poor focus for sector wide adoption through research, alliance building and advocacy. Within this organization engaged in improving access to water and sanitation services to the people in the low income urban areas, I primarily developed, implemented and assisted build the capacity of communities groups to implement community based water supplies and sanitation projects in various informal settlements of Nairobi and Kisumu; ensure that programme strategies, frameworks and plans are formulated, implemented and evaluated; Programme initiatives, experiences and lessons learnt are documented and disseminated and Programmes have the desired impact.• Developed and coordinated the formulation of a comprehensive monitoring system of the projects• Played a pivotal role in formulating the Umande Trust strategic plan.• Designed and conducted both qualitative and quantitative baseline surveys to provide information for midterm evaluations of the project and end of projects.• Undertook impact assessments of the project activities and ensured that lessons learnt are fed back to the project operations through various media.• Liaise closely with the ministry of water, environment, water service providers and water boards in the development of the water and sanitation projects in Nairobi and Kisumu• Facilitated the formation of Water and sanitation Services Associations (WASSAs) in Kisumu and Nairobi. They are responsible for monitoring the community water providers, lobby for the use of decentralized funds in WATSAN provision and encourage saving groups to invest in WATSAN projects.

• In collaboration with the head office, mobilized and secured US$1M from Ford Foundation to implement a community based waste enterprise targeting the youth in various informal settlements in Nairobi.• Facilitated a partnership of four other NGOs through whish this project was implemented. It came to be known as the “Taka ni Pato”, the first ever partnership to be funded by Ford Foundation. • Mobilized a small grant from the Germany Embassy that was used to facilitate glass recycling in REG.• Developed and introduced a range of IEC methods to promote environmental awareness and behavior change in the community. This was through beauty pageant, music and drama that brought together many youths from the informal settlements• Participated in organizing an event dubbed the “great river Nairobi tournament” aimed on creating awareness on the importance of managing the river. It was a sports event that brought together dignitaries, youths, NGOs and other partners. This concept has been adopted by UNEP in an effort to manage the river.• Planning and prepared annual plans and budgets.
