Dr. Norris has been admitted as an expert neurotoxicologist/psychopharmacologist in Washington, D.C., Virginia, New York, and Illinois. She is an expert witness for defense/plaintiff, civil/criminal, and pre-trial consultation for depositions/hearings/affidavits. Drugs and alcohol can affect one's ability to understand and knowingly wave their rights. Drugs can alter perception of events as they occur and ability to recall what one has perceived. Drugs play a role in determining reliability, credibility, admissibility of witnesses'​ testimony. Drugs may also affect a defendant's ability to form the specific intent necessary for certain crimes, and numerous other forensic issues relating to a person's mental state. Toxic chemicals can damage the brain/ nervous system and affect a person's behavior. Symptoms may include problems with memory, perception, reaction time, sleep, thinking, as well as depression, confusion, personality changes, seizures and even death. Legal problems can also result from irrational, unusual or violent behavior.Integrative medical practices enjoy greater scientific medical evidence, in some cases even representing standard of care practices. In many cases, clinical outcomes and mechanisms of action can be defined by existing published research.
