Shelbey Rolison Call, PhD manages the outpatient practice, Phoenix Pointe Psychiatry, serving patients in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. She received her doctorate in Organizational Communication & Technology from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research explores how the landscape of health and healthcare work is being transformed by advances in technology, automation, and artificial intelligence. Her dissertation research investigated how the datafication of personal health management creates new possibilities for organizing around fertility. Shelbey is a research affiliate with the Automation Policy Research Organizing Network (APRON) Lab. She has contributed to and authored publications in books and journals such as Management Communication Quarterly, Big Data & Society, and the International Encyclopedia of Health Communication. Her dissertation work was funded by the National Science Foundation and the University of Texas at Austin's Continuing Graduate Fellowship.
