Manage all areas of Microbiology/Molecular laboratory including, supervision, training, ordering and management of inventory and supplies, developing and implementing SOP specific for department.Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to staff. Responsible for participating in the interview process and making recommendation for hiring of staff as needed. Performs Annual Performance appraisals and ensures mandatory in-services are completed within set time frame.Sits on interdepartmental committees with involvement in Infection Prevention, Surveillance, and Contamination Rates.Serves as Liaison between nursing, pharmacy, Hospitalists and medical staff in regards to Microbiology and Molecular issues, concerns and questions.Maintains accountability for proper documentation, interpretation and correlation of clinical results utilizing LIS and EMR systems.
