Hello. I am Shelby Taylor. I am graduating this December from the College of Education with a bachelors of science in Literacy, Learning, and Leadership. This is a leadership degree that has prepared me to work in out-of school learning environments that serve youth and communities. Recently, I have been teaching youth dance classes for a training program called ConDanzita. They perform several times per year at events that support local Tucson communities and charities. Through my work with ConDanzita, I have become inspired to help others, and I would like to continue working with programs that promote youth development through the arts. Also, I am a member of a Tucson based dance company called ConDanza. As a member of the ConDanza company I have learned to design lessons and lighting. I have been given many leadership roles, where I have been able to lead dancers through classes and performances. Dance is an art that has helped me gain important 21st century skills, and I believe that every youth should have access to the important lessons gained through being a dancer.
