I completed a youth ministry internship at Shannon Hills Bible Chapel, (HSBC). During my internship I was given a variety of responsibilities including running and teaching the summer kids club (ages 4-12). I also was a Sunday school teacher for the high-school girls and built relationships with them and mentored them throughout the summer, as well as be a counselor for week of camp. In the same way, I was the games director for SHBC Vacation Bible School. Throughout my internship I had regular meetings with my supervisor and mentor. This experience was a great opportunity to gain practical experience working in ministry, I was able learn administration skills, practice discipleship, plan and teach lessons, and learn how to work with children of all ages.

While serving at MTYC I was given numerous responsibilities including serving meals, washing dishes, working in the snack shop, maintenance, pool cleaning, and being a facilitator in the Outdoor Adventure Program, (OAP). OAP serves to teach campers life lessons, the Gospel, and teamwork through high and low ropes courses. As a facilitator I would lead campers in these activities encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone while simultaneously ensuring their safety. Through my time at MTYC I obtained valuable lessons and skills such as, how to facilitate ropes courses, leading large and small groups, the value of a good work ethic, and working with a team of people.
