Piqosity.com (pique curiosity) is a K12 marketplace for online, personalized learning. Content contributors like educator self-publishers can upload as little as a handful of practice questions. Piqosity's Adaptive Engine mixes and matches material according to each student's preferences and demonstrated needs. No two students have the exact same experience. Piqosity currently provides personalized test prep for ACT, SAT, and ISEE plus individualized learning in Common-core and TEKS-aligned math and English courses for grades 5-11.

I teach POLI/ ASIA 347, which is an academic lab course examining the development, politics, and management of Shanghai. The real highlight of the lab is when I lead the students on a trip to Shanghai, Nanjing, and Beijing during Rice's spring break. This course is a complement to POLI 464/362 "Comparative Urban Politics and Policy" as offered by the Department of Political Science at Rice University.

Worked primarily in strategic sustainability and corporate social responsibility efforts. I really enjoyed the work and that experience made a huge impact on me. Unfortunately, the fruits of my most compelling project never saw the light of day due to the recession.

As an intern with the US Commercial Service, my role was primarily to analyze market reports and help advise US companies on how to sell their products in the German market and to pitch American products to German companies. There were three highlights of this internship--selling an anchor from a Houston shipping company, serving as the lost navigator for a tour bus full of White House press corps, and learning how to say in German, "no, we do not sell cigarettes out of the American Consulate that you cannot buy at Karstadt."
