If I could tell my younger self that I would be working as an insurance coordinator for a dental practice I would be very proud. I always took interest in the dental field because my mother managed a Endodontic office for the majority of my life. I would always ask her to explain certain terminology and I would practice memorizing the tooth numbers and quadrants on my free time. This may seem boring to others but it was fascinating to me!At the age of 18, I was offered a position in a dental office for an insurance verifier that I had no previous experience with.I was scared but I was ready for a new challenge. They really needed someone in their small department so I took the offer and learned more than I could ever imagine while learning to love it at the same timeNow, I am still working at the dental practice and traveling to other offices to share my knowledge. Teaching others what I do and helping them understand how to be more efficient feels so rewarding. It makes me feel like a valuable asset to the company and I truly enjoy what I do everyday. I aspire to finish my bachelors in Business management so I can manage different dental offices and continue to share my knowledge. The insurance world is constantly evolving and I'm right there with it! I love attending the yearly ADA conventions because they are so refreshing. These conventions gives me the chance to meet new people connect, and learn tons of new useful information.   My everyday tasks include overseeing activities such as the submission of claims, posting payments, and helping individuals and companies understand the complex world of insurance policies. Some of my main skills that have helped me thrive at my job are communication, organization and the ability to solve problems. for example, In the insurance field sometimes claims come back with denials that make no sense and as a coordinator we have to question everything and make sure claims get processed correctly. Not only does the business rely on us but the clients do as well. We are here to make things as easy as possible and solve the problems.
