My research will focus on the emerging field of conservation entrepreneurship.

The Convivial Conservation Centre (CCC) is at the centre of a growing coalition from across the Global South and North that proposes a systemic transformation of the conservation sector and its conversations and practices. Convivial conservation addresses the root causes of the biodiversity crisis: the growing gap between people and the rest of nature and destructive forms of economic growth. Convivial conservation has developed over the years through academic papers, three major research-action projects, and publication of the book The Conservation Revolution: Radical Ideas for Saving Nature Beyond the Anthropocene, by Bram Büscher and Robert Fletcher. The CCC will now take this work even further, with a focus on long-term funding for convivial conservation research, increased dedication to policy and further developing convivial conservation in practice. Research and field assistant for a Ph.D candidate of the Environmental Biology department. Research focused on the Cape Mountain zebra. Field work included collection and analysis of data related to demography and population structure of various populations throughout the region, as well as faecal sample collection for nutrient and hormone analysis. Research encompassed a large proportion of the metapopulation dispersed across the Eastern and Western Cape provinces.
