Profile bio

About Shelby Pick

Since I was a young child I have always had the need, want, and drive to serve. In the past ten years of my life, I have focused on doing just this. Upon high school graduation, I took an internship at the State Capitol working at a legislative level to understand and help the public in Oregon. I found that although I was able to serve my community, I wanted to commit more of my time at a larger level. Shortly thereafter I had the humbling opportunity to join the United States Air Force Reserve. This experience alone has taught me a great deal about leadership, life, and responsibilities. My commitment to the Air Force occupies one weekend per month and two weeks out of the year. While in my off time, I focus on my passion for childhood development. Over the years I have been a pre-school teacher, a live-in nanny, a travel nanny, and expanded my knowledge and expertise in children and family studies. Ultimately my life is split between two worlds and two career paths. In the military, I am working to commission as a Pilot, and in the civilian sector, my goal is to continue to work with families and children to develop safe and healthy functioning family structures. Although I am still continuing my education in aviation, business, political science, early education, and human development and family studies I am seeking opportunities to connect with families who are needing support in their home life. Proven abilities include:+Strategic thinking+Effective written and verbal communication+Management skills+Organizational skills+Team orientedWith my prior service, my professional experience, my drive to complete any task at hand, as well as my motivation to excel in all things I do. I am committed to creating a positive energy atmosphere that promotes a learn-through-play environment and helps to develop children at any stage in life.

Listed skills include English, Management, Outlook, Customer Service, and 13 others.
