About Shelby Wray

My name is Shelby Wray and I am a second year Honors student and Chancellor's Science Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am currently studying Quantitative Biology (BS) and Computer Science (BA). My research interests include epigenetics and genome sequencing in the context of health disparity. I intend to pursue a PHD in the field of Bioinformatics.As of Fall 2024, I am volunteering as an undergraduate research assistant at the Raffield Lab at UNC's School of Medicine. My current project involves finding metabolite signatures in relation to obesity (BMI and WHR) using a statistical analysis approach with R programming. My personal interests include performing on UNC's Kamikazi Dance Team, looking after my 3 cats, and eating sushi.
