My career back ground has always been in community development, corrections/Law Enforcement and human development.I served as a elected tribal leader, Blood Tribe Chief and council from 2008 to 2012 and held the economic development portfolio. Currently I continue to consult and teach the Blackfoot culture and language as well as First Nation traditional protocols within the public school board. I am currently working for an awesome Lethbridge Alberta business called Infinity Property Care as a class 1 driver. I am an experienced long haul semi truck driver driving super B' hoppers I hauling grain and other commodities to other provinces and into the United States. I strongly believe, through personal counselling and experience, that in order to lead a life of humbleness, respect and to help yourself, family and coomunity, you have to accept 1. Your personal mistakes, 2. recognize and learn how to deal with those mistakes through personal counselling and 3. know and accept who you are and where you originate from.Because of the ever changing world economy and work environment, one has to continuously diversify and upgrade his professional skills. In may of 2013, I graduated from the TransTech Class 1 Driving Academy and Lethbridge Safety Services where I attained my class 1 drivers license, Q (Air)break Endorsement, H2S Alive, WHMIS and First Aid certificates. I believe that you are never too old to continuously develop new skills, be not afraid of hard work and meet every challenge life may bring into your life with a positive attitude.

First Nations Cultural ConsultantWhite Feathers Nov 1985 - PresentLethbridge AlbertaFor a number of years, I worked with the Ninastako Cultural Centre on the Blood Reserve, providing cross-cultural awareness programs, promoting my culture, its traditional protocols and teaching the Blackfoot language. Also, I am a certified Correctional Peace Officer and worked as a correctional peace officer/living unit officer for nine years..Then, From 2004 to 2007, I worked as the Blood Tribe’s Community Liaison. As the community liaison, I was part of a team that drafted a strategic plan to reduce the use of alcohol,solvent/drug and reducing community and family violence..Because of my community involvement, in 2008, I was elected onto the Blood Tribe Chief and Council, in my term (2008 to 2012) I was involved in overseeing our tribe’s combined 29 depts and entities. More specifically, I was directly involved in committees with relevance to our tribe’s overall interests in the finance, economic development, traditional land use and environmental protection portfolios. As a committee member, sometimes the Chair, I was involved with strategic planning, negotiations and problem solving and conflict resolution on a regular basis. Finally, within the past year, I was invited by Aggie King-Smith, director with AB Health, to consult regarding the new Aboriginal Framework for the province’s healthy and wellness and restorative justice initiatives. The final product represents First Nations’ communities very well.As a First Nations’ person, I am fluent in Blackfoot and English and I have strong communication and negotiation skills. Throughout my life, I have always been actively involved with my culture and have always turned to my elders for advice. In all of my experiences, I have become familiar with First Nations’ and mainstream communities’ challenges and the need for addressing root causes to community, administration and governance crime in order to be successful in developing, implementing, promoting and creating healthy and safe communities.
