The Hong Kong-Australia Business Association Limited (HKABA), initiated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was established in 1987 aiming to promote a positive image for Hong Kong and to reinforce economic ties between Hong Kong SAR/China and Australia. Members are local businessmen with strong Hong Kong connections or those interested in doing business with Hong Kong and Hong Kong organizations based in Australia. The Association provides networking opportunities on which strong trading and investment links are built between Hong Kong companies and Australian companies. It also provides an effective channel of communications for information on economic development and trade opportunities in Hong Kong SAR/China. The HKABA is a member of the “Federation of Hong Kong Business Associations Worldwide” established in November 2000, comprising 39 Hong Kong Business Associations in 28 countries. Total membership of HKABA worldwide is over 11,000.

Prior to joining addsum, Sheldon spent 12 years working in ‘Big Four’ firms PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Deloitte across offices in China, Australia and New Zealand, and also headed up the China desk at global mid-tier accounting firm Baker Tilly Pitcher Partner’s office in Sydney.Sheldon is a Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), a registered MARA migration agent and a registered tax agent (RTA), and has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand since 2003. He holds a Masters of Laws degree from the University of Sydney, and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Auckland.

2020年3月起，澳大利亚安德信会计师事务所正式成为上海市新虹桥公证处驻澳大利亚唯一官方联络处。2020年4月9日，澳大利亚首例“远程视频公证”在安德信办公室成功完成。这是上海市新虹桥公证处在澳大利亚开设的第一个“远程视频公证”官方联络处，旨在凭借安德信在澳经营多年的资源优势，为在澳华人、华侨、中国留学生提供公证服务。作为中国国家“远程视频公证”项目的一部分，承担首家澳大利亚公证点落地工作的安德信会计师事务所是澳大利亚历史最悠久的华人专业事务所之一。这一公证处驻澳官方联络点的设立，意味着在澳华人、华侨、中国留学生可以在安德信悉尼或墨尔本办公室即可实现长三角地区的“远程视频公证”，无需千里迢迢飞越半个地球回国办理公证。“远程视频公证”是响应海外华人、华侨的呼声，在中国司法部和上级司法行政机关的指导下，以服务“一带一路”建设为主线，拓展“互联网+”公证业务，利用信息技术，改变空间距离，以破解海外华人办理公证跨国跑、多次跑的难点、痛点为目的，由国内公证处推出、为海外华人服务的公证新模式。根据《中华人民共和国公证法》《公证程序规则》，受理之公证事项中公证申请人或利害关系人一人或多人在澳大利亚的，身份属于在澳华人、华侨、中国留学生，上海市新虹桥公证处可以通过远程视频的方式完成受理、审查后出具公证书。目前受理公证领域仅限于长三角地区相关的公证，而中国其它地区相关的公证也有望在澳落地。“远程视频公证”服务需要提前3个工作天预约。驻澳联络处的公证联络员会与相关当事人联系安排进行“远程视频公证”。

Chinese Big Four Alumni in Australia Limited is a "not-for- profit“public company registered in Sydney Australia on 28 August 2017. BFA Australia is an initiative by a group of experienced ex-Big 4 professionals in Australia. The organisation is established to advance the interests of the Members and to promote the Members’ relationships with Big Four Alumni in other countries. BFA Australia is willing to help those new arrivals of Big 4 migrants seeking career advice. We are passionate to build a platform for ex-Big4ers to experience sharing through WeChat interviews, seminars and gathering events and so on.

Sheldon is a Client Director in the Tax Consulting Group at Pitcher Partners Sydney. He provides tax advisory and tax compliance services to multinational corporate and private groups as well as managed investment funds in Australia. In particular, he works with setting up managed investment trusts and ensuring funds satisfy the Attribution Managed Investment Trust (AMIT) tax status. He also heads up the China Desk for New South Wales, focusing on inbound and outbound investments involving Asia.

Sheldon Mak is a Senior Manager at PwC China's Global Structuring Services team.Sheldon has 15 years of professional services experience in China, Australia and New Zealand. He started his accountancy and legal career in 2000, and worked as a corporate financial and taxation accountant after graduating from the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 2002. He joined Deloitte in New Zealand in 2004, and became an Account Director at Deloitte Australia in 2011 while accumulating valuable experience in tax advisory work.
