• Assist veterans and/or their dependents in applying for available federal benefits from the VA; as well as assist in applying for available state benefits from the ND Department of Veteran Affairs.• Manage a significant diverse client base in which I have to evaluate the ongoing variety of needs, medical both physical and psychological, also financial of veteran and/or dependents; I help plan and implement those needs based on the guidelines of the Title 38, Code of Federal Regulations.• Assist veterans in all types of claims, Compensation and Pension, and burial, maintaining a working knowledge of the Board of Veteran Appeals and Higher-Level Reviews. Exploring all possible options, weighing the evidence of each type of claim and advise the veteran of their options.• Establish contacts with the community organizations and other veterans to do the community outreach for Cass County Veteran Service Office.• Ensure and maintain training, at the North Dakota Department of Veteran Affairs, as well as the National Veteran Service Office level, American Legion, and VFW.• Obtain all necessary corroborating evidence for all the sources possible, to process and submit claims within a timely order to ensure the veteran only waits the minimal amount of time for a benefits decision.
