in early 2018 I transitioned from a long and successful career running a technical documentation company to the nonprofit sector. I have been a life-long ocean lover, ocean sports enthusiast, and environmentalist, so I decided to leave tech and follow my passion. In 2018 I created Sea Hugger, a nonprofit organization combating marine plastic pollution through education and action. We now have many impactful programs and are growing and reaching more people each day!

FounderSea Hugger Mar 2018 - PresentHalf Moon Bay, CaSea Hugger is working to end the devastation of marine plastics. We do this by:1. Encouraging people to stop using single-use plastic and providing alternatives.2. Educating the public about the dangers of single-use-plastic by speaking with schools and community groups. We focus on kids in hopes that they will become future conservationists.3. Funding private recycling programs in coastal areas of the world with severe plastic pollution and no viable recycling programs.4. Sponsoring monthly beach cleanups and collaborating with other groups that are working to solve this issue.
