Dandelion Catering Company officially launched in 2009 in Portland, Maine when lifelong Maine residents Christine and Christian Hayes decided to chase a dream that led them both out of their restaurant and foodservice careers and into the world of catering. Their ultimate goal was to not only produce restaurant quality, freshly prepared food in an industry that is far too dependent on frozen and pre-made ingredients, but also to create a company steeped in their principles. My responsibilities included: liaising and building relationships with radio station representatives and media sales companies; negotiating with radio station representatives and media sales companies to obtain the best rates and most appropriate day parts; keeping up to date with industry research figures, audience figures; monitoring buying strategies; liaising with media sales people to adjust media schedules in response to audience figures; booking individual advertising spots, ensuring that the adverts run accurately so the desired media message is heard by consumers; client reporting and budget management; collecting and analysing sales and consumer data; analysing the effectiveness of the campaign and using this data to inform future campaigns; working on a range of accounts at the same time, often juggling various deadlines; supporting the media manager.
