The World of Work Boot Camp is for young people in Bradford South to come and gain 'work experience'. Youth unemployment is at an all time high, and the young cant get jobs because they have no experience, and no experience because no one will employ them. The boot camp was set up to give them enterprise & employability skills, and to get them 'work ready'. We also deliver level 1 & 2 qualifications in Enterprise and Employability. Our aim is to make young people employable by taking part in activities. This will give them transferable skills such as initiative, problem solving, team working, decision making, confidence etc. which will make their employment sustainable.If anyone would like to get involved, and support these young people and our project, please let me know. The programme also teaches discipline's such as punctuality, time keeping, attitude, application etc. These students have low self esteem and confidence issues, this is another area we develop. The end goal for us all, is to get them to a standard of employability, then find them a job. Obviously it will depend on the individual's attitude, enthusiasm, approach and application to tasks given. These kids may be academic under achievers but have so many other qualities, they just need a chance. If you can offer a hour/day/week to these young people, so they can put something on their CV's please let us know. Every young person deserves a chance....
