I have more than 25 years of experience as a writer, editor, manager, and content producer in print and digital media. I started my career in journalism with the Associated Press’ Atlanta bureau and wrote breaking news, health and sports stories for regional and national distribution. I returned to my hometown of Columbia, South Carolina, to join the staff of The State newspaper, where I covered local government and later served as the assistant metro editor. After getting married to a fellow journalist, I moved to Los Angeles, where I worked as a copy editor for FoxSports.com and The Hollywood Reporter and as a content producer for thedoctorstv.com. When we moved back to the East Coast, I joined Skirt magazine as the editor in February 2017, where I led the revisioning and relaunch of the magazine. I have been the managing editor of Charleston magazine since August 2019. I have a master’s of mass communications from the University of Georgia and a bachelor’s in English from Wofford College.
