Overwhelmingly re-elected to 2nd term. Lead the municipality’s governing body, set legislative agenda and priorities, oversee Town Council meetings and standing operating committees.-Delivered lowest average municipal tax rate in over 15 years, including 0% tax levy for the first time in history; maintained AAA bond rating.-Led through a global pandemic while adapting operations to ensure safety/welfare of employees and constituents. Implemented spending cuts for first time in 8 years without layoffs, in spite of 2% increase in non-discretionary expenses. Restored pre-pandemic fiscal revenues and budget surplus within 12 months.-Co-founded the Raritan Valley Line Mayors’ Alliance to advocate for improved regional rail service with New Jersey Transit, key legislators, and the Governor. Secured significant service enhancements for 23K commuters; hosted Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and regional mayors to advocate for passage of the federal infrastructure bill.-Led creation and ultimate adoption of a new Town Master Plan to guide future growth. Negotiating transformational public/private partnership for unprecedented investment in the downtown.-Invested in technology and automation to improve services and reduce costs, introduced new data driven communication/ reporting tools.-Oversee implementation of affordable housing obligations; negotiated first large scale development to leverage state redevelopment law and tax incentives.-Leading efforts to become premier sustainable community resulting in first time certification award by Sustainable Jersey; facilitated development of region’s first hydroponic vertical farm.-Appointed to serve as Chair, Liquor License Reform Task Force by NJ League of Municipalities
