Jauh-Shiang Shelley Chen, Professional vocalist and pianist, has performed many concerts, mostly in Texas but in New York City, Tennessee city , Orlando, Florida. and in Asian countries as well. In 2015, was invited by New Score Chamber Orchestra, performed two of the world Premiere concerts at Orlando, Florida. Miss Chen often has been invited to performer of both the national anthem of the USA and that of Taiwan at The opening concert of the Austin Performing Arts Center. During the same year Shelley conducted The Austin Chanson Choir, presenting a Number of public concerts. Recently she received teacher recognition awards in both Chinese Education and Music. She was also nominated as an Overseas specialty talent Performer and teacher of 2008. In 2006, she performed as soloist before the Governor of Texas and Mayor of Austin. In 2005, as guest artist, she performed her concert, “La grandeur,” at Huston-Tillotson University. And in 2004, Miss Chen performed on invitation by the Taiwanese Government the " La grandeur " concert in the famed National Concert hall in Taipei. While there, she presented this concert in the city of Kaohsiung and in another national concert hall in Taipei. She also sang as a special solo artist with the Taipei Ching-Yunn Chorus. Most of her performances were broadcast live over national television and radio stations and were reported by the University magazine, the San Marcos local newspaper, the Taiwan Hakka magazine, and Taiwan Artists magazine.Miss Chen received her Masters degree in Music performance from Texas State University in San Marcos. Initially, she was pursuing a music degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After she received a scholarship from the Huston-Tillotson University, she transferred to its music school and graduated with a bachelor of music degree, both in Voice and Piano.
