Oversees Hawai‘i Green Growth’s organizational operations, strategy and development to support the network’s mission to advance environmental, social, and economic priorities through the Aloha+ Challenge – Hawai‘i's local framework to achieve the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Serves as point of contact for day-to-day operations to support organizational cohesion on programs, priorities, and with staff. Develops strategies with partner organizations to leverage programs, joint fundraising and broader initiatives. Oversees and ensures all programs meet and deliver organizational commitments, including compliance with contracts and grants and State, Federal and other requirements. Leads organization in 501(c)3 compliance overseeing financial, operational, and legal obligations and requirements. Negotiates and coordinates multiple major contracts and funding mechanisms requiring significant organizational growth over a short period of time. Seeks and advances development and fundraising activities for the network-based organization, including identifying contract and grant opportunities, meeting with potential funders and developing proposals, liaising with grant writing team and other major partners on proposals and reporting requirements, and advancing new and innovative development strategies. Supervises, oversees, supports, coaches, and trains staff. Supports the CEO in making key decisions affecting all aspects of the organization.

Hawai'i Green Growth is a UN designated sustainability hub that brings together government, business, and civil society to achieve economic, social, and environmental priorities. Our collective work is guided by the Aloha+ Challenge, Hawai'i's local framework to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and measured through an open-data Dashboard. In my capacity as Operations and Strategy Director at Hawai'i Green Growth, I oversaw the organization's operations, development and finances, personnel, and strategy, working closely with all members of the Hawai’i Green Growth team.

Coordinated the Outreach Program for the Hawaii Association of Watershed Partnerships (HAWP). HAWP comprises 10 individual watershed conservation and management organizations across five islands of Hawaii. Grant research and writing, communications planning, outreach to State Legislature, and the production of targeted outreach products and strategies to advance statewide conservation efforts.

Short term contract to provide support to the marine corps base environmental department, storm water management program. Reviewed and commented on CATEX applications per the NEPA process, conducted site visits to assess industry-level storm water management and to provide recommendations for improvement. Assisted in drafting the annual storm water management report according to the marine corps base's NPDES permit.

Served as lead consultant to IUCN to develop a full work plan and project design for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) project titled "Sustainable Management of Peatland Ecosystems in Mekong Countries". Duties included extensive review and analysis of relevant environmental assessments and policy documents, participation in country missions to Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Myanmar, site-level analysis of potential demonstration sites, comprehensive stakeholder consultations, and development of the full project document according to GEF and IUCN standards. Project completion date: June 2017.

• Served as a consultant to DAI for the USAID Mekong Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change initiative; the project area encompassed the Lower Mekong Basin in Southeast Asia. Primary responsibilities included scientific writing of project reports, drafting of communication pieces for a range of audiences, GIS map making, workshop presentation, and general collaboration with the communications team and project partners. • Notable achievements include lead authorship of two academic research articles focusing on the project’s adaptation planning methods and results of using these methods in rural communities of the Lower Mekong. Climate and Development published the first article (September 3, 2016) and Climatic Change published the second in a special edition on “Climatic Change and Development in the Mekong River Basin” (January 13, 2017).

• Specific services include: wetland and stream assessments; water quality evaluations; ecological restoration design; educational presentations and workshops; data analysis and reporting • Notable projects include serving as a lead investigator for the State of Vermont to develop a GIS-based model for regional agricultural producers that prioritizes land for conversion while minimizing impacts to natural resources; conducting a vernal pool and wetland resource inventory for a potential land transfer between a Vermont ski resort and the U.S. Forest Service; and updating the City of Burlington, Vermont’s GIS-based wetland resource map

• Conducted studies related to the ecology and management of wetlands and other aquatic systems• Extensive contact with a wide range of clientele such as local landowners, dairy farmers, ski resort managers, State and Federal governmental agencies, and city officials • Notable projects include serving as a lead investigator for the development of a wetland restoration plan for the Lake Champlain Basin as a component of the State of Vermont Clean and Clear Action Plan; the development of a habitat restoration plan for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; and providing expert testimony to the Vermont Environmental Board regarding impacts to water resources resulting from the expansion of gun club operations in Vermont
