ATTAIN Instructional Coordinator As a trainer at the ATTAIN lab on Exchange St. in Binghamton, I aim for excellence in each classroom session. I envision myself as one of my clients, acknowledging their frustration with the messiness of learning. I strive to make learning as stress-free as possible. I take extensive notes during each session, surveying the audience for boredom, mental fatigue, and/or frustration, and re-work my delivery and the curriculum accordingly. I always look for that magic twist that will elucidate a difficult subject. The Broome County ATTAIN Labs provide customized training to displaced adults, at-risk youth, and clients of partnering agencies, and employees at local companies.Training includes the following subject matter: • Microsoft Office Suite• SQL Server• Quickbooks• Academic subjects such as mathematics and reading comprehension• Resume writing, job readiness, and job interview techniques• Soft skills such as goal planning and realizationTraining is tailored to the clients’ needs in terms of scope, pacing, tone, total classroom time, and expected outcomes. Curricula are adjusted and optimized based on standardized tests and client feedback to provide maximum benefit.
