As Project Director for the Youth Violence Prevention Center- Denver, I:• Directed the day-to-day operations of a youth violence prevention initiative across two intervention sites under a multi-million dollar federal grant• Oversaw the implementation of the Communities That Care framework across the intervention sites• Interfaced with local stakeholders and federal project officers• Facilitated team meetings and oversaw communication between the research team, key leaders and intervention sites• Planned training sessions, delivered presentations, wrote annual reports and monitored the project budget• Bridged the research and implementation aspects of the project

I previously served as the Community Site Manager for a youth violence prevention collaborative effort focusing on a Denver neighborhood, staffed through the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence and funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In this role, I:• Supported the implementation of a community-change process addressing youth problem behavior in a Denver neighborhood • Cultivated stakeholder and partner relationships• Helped build community capacity in understanding evidenced-based programming• Engaged media outlets in highlighting project success

I provided individual, group, and family therapy for substance abusing adolescents, many of whom were involved with human services and/or juvenile probation. I also conducted psychological and drug/alcohol evaluations for the purposes of making recommendations for treatment and court. These evaluations were often requested by probation officers, case workers, judges, and parents. Additionally, I taught drug education classes and facilitated Why Try cognitive restructuring groups.

I taught conflict and anger management skill building to children, adults, and youth at risk.

I worked at a local junior high school in San Diego, California as an Instructional Aide in the counseling office and a Certificated Classroom Teacher Assistant within a team of 8th grade teachers.
