Since 1996, I have worked as a Registered Dietitian in acute care (Med/Surg, CCU, Cardiac, Behavioral Health units) and inpatient rehabilitation (SCI, TBI and debility), cancer centers, in addition to providing outpatient nutrition services in private practice. I have also served as Director of Food and Nutrition Services in acute hospital settings. After a short gap from full time dietetics practice to explore other professional opportunities in education and emergency preparedness, I am eager to return to my first profession of full time dietetics. It was the skills and values developed as an Army dietitian that I leaned upon serving in these other capacities. I frame my position as a team member that places high value to respect, integrity, honesty, and personal courage as we compassionately assist others with our expertise and experience.
