As the Director at the American Cancer Society's National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer, my mission is infusing every initiative with an unwavering commitment to health equity. I lead with a voice shaped by personal triumph over cervical cancer, championing policy and systemic changes that address social determinants of health. My work at Vandalia-Con, a non-profit I founded, amplifies this dedication by fostering education and access to life-saving screenings in West Virginia. The American Cancer Society benefits from my strategic guidance in propelling the fight against cervical cancer, with an emphasis on immunization, screening, and treatment. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, our team advances goals that edge us closer to eliminating cervical cancer as a public health problem. My advocacy, grounded in rights and culture change, is a testament to the power of informed action and community engagement in driving meaningful progress.

Wvu Cancer Institute Cancer Prevention And ControlWest Virginia Breast And Cervical Cancer Screening Program Dec 2012 - May 2022Morgantown, WvAs the Policy, and Environmental, Community-Clinic Linkage Specialist (PECCL), Shelly identifies employers in areas of targeted interest, such as in those counties with higher rates of breast and cervical cancer incidence, higher rates of late-stage diagnosis, and higher rates of smoking.
