I am an executive communications leader with over 20 years of experience, and a demonstrated history of success in crisis management, message development, labor relations, internal and external communications, media relations, copywriting, event planning and integrated marketing. Working and commenting to media on issues and events ranging from hospital responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, business acquisitions and divestitures, and a variety of legal cases, I selected the healthcare industry because it is a dynamic industry with diverse communications all aimed at the ultimate goal of helping people live happier and healthier lives.Based in Florida, I currently serve as the Director of Communications for 20 acute care hospitals on the East coast for Tenet Healthcare. Managing a team of six, I am responsible for developing and implementing communications strategies for Tenet's hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, South Carolina and Tennessee. I also integrate messaging with other arms of Tenet's business including Tenet Physician Resources, Med Post and Care Spot Urgent Care Centers and United Surgical Partners Inc. (USPI) to ensure consistent communications strategies across the complete enterprise. I serve as a spokesperson, and I also provide media training and executive messaging for senior executives. I have grown my career with Tenet Healthcare for over 17 years, serving in a variety of roles in the marketing and communications department. I have a deep understanding of healthcare operations, and a knack for creativity mixed with a can-do attitude. My sunny outlook, and relentless effort to achieve success, has allowed me to advance from individual hospital-based roles to corporate positions. My favorite part of my job involves positive story generation, writing and story-telling. I thrive off of a good brainstorm session in which an idea emerges that can positively change the direction of a campaign. Prior to moving into the public relations arena, I was a broadcast journalist. I covered breaking news along with more in-depth investigative series. I earned my bachelor’s degree in telecommunications – news from the University Florida and my master’s degree in communications from Florida Atlantic University. I have served on various chamber boards, Best Buddies board and as an executive leadership team member for the American Heart Association.
