I worked at National Human Rights Museum (NHRM) as a part-time visitor service assistant (docent). My duties included exhibition space maintenance, audio guides (equipment) management, visitor services (giving guidance, tours and answering questions), collecting and organising visitor experience surveys and assisting with lectures or group events.

This internship was an incredible opportunity for me because I got to witness the birth of a modern museum for the public. Through this internship, I learned about the pre-requisites for museum operations, such as website set-up, website content design and proofreading, information needed to visit the website, and researching the social media practices of similar museums.On the administrative side, I learned how to recruit volunteers and design training programs. Through volunteer training, we were able to understand the characteristics of each volunteer and organize their work. I learned about venue management and event flow design for pre-opening events, such as press conferences for book releases.I learned how to write and proofread labels for artifacts in the collection.
