Met with prospective clients, created manpower proposals, tool loadouts and bills of material for possible projects.On site PM for managed pressure drilling system electrical installation project offshore; oversee project personnel, track client requested metrics, and work with client to identify and correct issues.

Communicated with prospective clients to create E&I installation & testing project proposals based on client RFQs, specifically in Oil & Gas industry both offhore & onshore as well as industrial facilities. Proposals included assignment of necessary craft disciplines, calculation of manpower costs, assembly of bill of materials & any required rental equipment. Once a proposal was submitted to a client, the project was closely tracked to ensure completion deadlines were being met & costs were being kept within the proposed budget. Upon project completion, complete data books and completion reports were compiled & supplied the client.

Oil & gas industry field service in electrical & instrumentation, construction, maintenance & commissioning. 12 months spent aboard FPSO Turritella commissioning, testing & maintaining a large fire & gas detection system for BSEE compliance (over 1200 devices). 3 months installing & commissioning PLC upgrades for William Oil & Gas, including construction of new control panels, all wiring & terminating as well as final I/O testing. Lead a team of specialists providing all electrical installation services during construction of SafeKick MPD modules to be installed aboard offshore drilling vessels for offshore drilling contractors. Managed project & crew conducting electrical installation & wiring of an entire land rig & support skids for a NOV.

Provided electrical, electronics and control systems technical support for a fleet of seven new build 6th generation DP drillships (SHI). Involved with asset management and non-capital projects, assisted in improving preventive maintenance standards, oversaw 'hardware in loop' testing and factory acceptance testing. Created five year major maintenance work scopes for all vessels as well as electrical supply and distribution planning for the stacking of two drillships. Provided troubleshooting assistance as required, including liaising with equipment vendors to assist the vessels’ Electronics and Electrical Departments in finding rapid solutions for system faults and failures. Conducted on-board maintenance audits. Assisted Human Resources with selection of rig maintenance personnel.

New assignment with the same company; as EAM Field Engineer I visit Ensco's GOM rigs to collect equipment data for the EAM project.

I accepted a transfer with promotion to the third of five new build 6th generation DP drillships under construction in South Korea. During the shipyard, sea trials and transit phases my responsibilities were similar to the duties listed below under ‘Discoverer Clear Leader’. Additionally I was responsible for tasking and supervision of eight Lead Electricians and Electronic Technicians, as well eight junior Electricians and Electronic Technicians. I was responsible for administering and reporting planned maintenance tasks for the Electrical/Electronic Department, as well as placing all material orders required for the successful completion of assigned and unplanned tasks. I worked closely with other department supervisors to ensure their department technical service needs were being met.

I was assigned to the first of five new build 6th generation deepwater DP drillships under construction in South Korea. I assisted with completion of pre-commissioning, testing, repair & final commissioning of all vessel automation & control systems. I participated in sea trials and FMEA, as well as numerous black-out & ESD system functionality tests. I sailed with the ship for the second ‘leg’ of her transit, learning how to keep all systems operational while underway. I trained with NOV (National Oilwell Varco) on the latest revision of the NOV Drilling Control Systems including the Amphion based drilling tools.

I was assigned aboard a semi-submersible, moored 5th generation mobile offshore drilling rig. Responsibilities included maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all rig systems: Simrad vessel and power management systems, Hitec drilling control system, Cameron MK II BOP MUX control systems, CCTV, PABX/intercom/PA, deck cranes, pipe handling equipment, and all instrumentation and measuring devices. I worked with Siemens programmable logic controllers; both hardware and software. I was also responsible for maintaining and administering the local area network, office computers and satellite communications equipment.

January 1st, 2000, Schlumberger sold Sedco Forex to Transocean. I was assigned aboard the new 5th gen DP semi-submersible "Cajun Express". I was responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all rig systems: Alstom DPS 900 dynamic positioning system, Electrowave ballast control system, Alstom vessel and power management systems, Varco V-ICIS drilling control system, Cameron MK I BOP MUX control system, Rigtech fluids management system, CCTV, PABX/intercom/PA, deck cranes, pipe handling equipment, and all instrumentation and measuring devices. I became familiar with Siemens, Allen Bradley and GE Fanuc programmable logic controllers; both hardware and software. I worked with equipment vendors on planning, installation and commissioning of new, as well as upgrades to, automated control systems. I was responsible for official changes made to ‘red-lined’ electrical diagrams. I gained advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Windows software and Wonderware.

I was assistant to the Electrical Engineer on a shipyard construction management team for a new-build DP semi-submersible, the "Cajun Express". I was responsible for coordinating electronics and automation systems installations with shipyard supervisors, approval/disapproval of interconnection schematics and cable routing plans for rig control systems, and inspection/quality assurance of work performed and completed by shipyard personnel and sub-contractors.

I was assigned aboard an anchored semi-submersible on “fast-track” to the position of Electrical Supervisor. I was cross-trained in all other departments on the rig including Marine, Mechanical, Drilling and Subsea. I was also occasionally assigned to the district office onshore to assist the Rig Manager and Rig Engineer.

Responsible for calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of computer controlled milling, edging and polishing equipment for a large volume eyeglass manufacturing laboratory. Implemented a scheduled maintenance system which was previously non-existent.
