I was responsible for providing the Contractor with all necessary engineering documents and issuing site instructions. I maintained detailed records, reviewed payment applications, and issued interim certificates. Additionally, I submitted comprehensive progress and status reports, ensuring the project stayed on track and met all requirements.

From April to December 2013, I conducted property valuations and managed expropriation issues. Between January and September 2014, I completed a professional internship on the Kigali-Gatuna Rehabilitation Project, contributing to the successful rehabilitation of a 77.8km road. From October 2014 to August 2015, I participated in the Young Engineer program at the Rwanda Transportation Agency (RTDA), where I supported urban road projects, assisted the RTDA Internal Tender Committee, and provided valuable support to project engineers.

I managed pilot projects to experiment with new building techniques, refining and developing the product. I oversaw the recruitment and training of masons in floor installation and supervised their work to ensure quality. I followed up with customers to gather feedback for product improvement. I sourced materials and negotiated bulk pricing for gravel and sand. Additionally, I supported the management team in strategizing cost reductions and marketing efforts.

In my first assignment, after graduation, I was responsible for planning, monitoring, evaluating, and organizing construction works to ensure timely, budget-friendly, and safe execution. I managed marshland works, prepared site meetings, and handled related responsibilities. My duties included billing, daily reporting, and technical discussions with supervising entities. I oversaw all activities on two neighboring sites, managing human resources, equipment, and materials such as sand, gravel, stones, water, cement, and borrow pits. Additionally, I provided technical assistance on a four-storey building project in Huye, South Province, an extension of Hotel Credo owner, my employer at the time.

Upon completing my studies and while working on my thesis on construction project management skills for local companies and SMEs, I was given an opportunity by the permanent secretary to assist with various tasks. I reported on meetings as the assistant to the Association’s permanent secretary, represented entrepreneurs as a TVET exhibitor, and conducted a member survey, including data collection, entry, analysis, and publication. Additionally, I handled billing, wrote official letters, and advised on the management of the association, which comprised around 300 companies.
