Promoted to Senior Software Engineer in 2007.Worked primarily on backends in multiple product areas, including: * Geo: Vector data store and backend used by MyMaps, etc. Backends for local business owners. Frontend and backends for an earlier version of MyMaps. * Apps: The backends for Google Reader. * Monetization and other billing efforts for AdWords and AdSense.Focus of work tended to be on: * Production: productionizing a service (setting up monitoring, alerts, reporting, good documentation, training, training SRE as needed, changing setups to make prod instances more robust/easier to support), debugging production issues, reviewing designs with a production support view. * Privacy, data protection, and wipeout compliance. Defining, implementing, auditing, and maintaining these policies. * Bug fixes and feature work (eg. implemented comments in Google Reader) * Tech lead and co-tech lead on smaller teams as needed.
