As a Solution Architect, I worked with a number of the largest companies in the US (including Verizon, CapitalOne, GEICO, etc…) to help define future state architectures and approaches to solving business challenges using the entire portfolio of BEA products and capabilities including WebLogic Server (WLS), WebLogic Workshop (WLW), WebLogic Portal (WLP), WebLogic Integration (WLI), AquaLogic BPM (ALBPM), AquaLogic Service Bus (ALSB), AquaLogic Data Services Platform (ALDSP), AquaLogic Registry/Repository (ALRR), and WebLogic SIP Server (WLSS).As the Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Verizon, I was responsible for coordinating BEA North America teams and helping to solidify and substantial grow the use of Java/J2EE, WebLogic and SOA products across all lines of business in North America. I also helped to craft strategies for Verizon Directors and C-level Executives. Working with the country's largest Telecoms (including AT&T Verizon and several others), I gained a plethora of experience crafting solutions in OSS/BSS, IMS, Service Delivery Platforms (SDP’s), and Wireless spaces.I was also a member of the BEA System Engineer Leadership Team who, working with the CIO, Chief Architects and SE Director, helped set the direction for the SE team(s) across North America. As Director of Emerging Technology and CTO, I was responsible for the oversight of all of the major Java/J2EE development efforts including a major J2EE application for a large Government agency which included ability to use Dallas Semiconductor’s Java iButton for advanced digital signature of data for non-repudiation. I managed the hiring and leading of a team of about 21 Java developers and provided oversight of requirements gathering, technology selection, programming standards, architectures, and project management.I also was responsible for creating the vision, planning, development and selling of several commercial Java development tools to automate and simplify the creation of large-scale J2EE applications. I began negotiations to sell the tools to BEA to include as part of their growing tool set. Simultaneously, I orchestrated selling these tools at a TYC booth at JavaOne and created the famous Battleship game in which contestants (conference attendees) used Dallas Semiconductor iButtons to attempt to sink a ship on a graphic game board.
