Looking for a freelance designer with flair? You've come to the right place.Having worked across a variety of professions, with academic training in Woven Textiles and some professional training in Fashion Journalism I find myself to be rather well-rounded. I'm a working mom - but that dosen't make me any less of a professional!The textile and garment manufacturing industry, had me liaising with international brands and buyers to design and develop ideas, sketches and pieces that cater to the needs of western markets. Having worked as the Fashion Editor at Women's Own Magazine, I am aware of the latest trends in fashion across the globe and especially within Pakistan. Not only am I adept in analysing and assessing the prevailing styles but am also familiar with designers and high street brands both local and overseas, and the market that they cater to. Additionally I had set up my own work-space/studio with a 16-shaft dobby as weaving is a passion but have donated it to Labour & Love. Creativity never sleeps and so eventually I'd like to feature my own line of homewares, interior & fashion accessories and trims and details for garments. These were inspired by both eastern and western trends. During this time-period we also shadowed the assistants in Bridal wear developments and meetings, showed customers around and oversaw many forms of embellishments. Overall the experience helped me learn about fabrics, surface decoration and styling from a more couture point of view.
