Hello, my name is Shereen Khan, and I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin! Previously I was a part of the International Baccalaureate Program during my high school years in Colorado and Dallas. This program allowed me to gauge the workload of college life as well as give me volunteer experience beforehand. I was also able to apply real-life skills and analyze coursework under real-world themes and perspectives.Professionally, I have quite a bit of experience tutoring young students as well as observing at a child lab school on campus at UT Austin. I have taught elementary school students in person, and I am currently tutoring high school students on an online platform through MyTutor Learning. Both of these experiences have helped me refine my social skills, adapt to the learning styles of students of different ages, and learn the ways children interact with each other. Alongside these experiences, I am currently participating in volunteer services with my local mosque in Houston, Texas. So far, I have learned to interact with people of all different backgrounds as well as how to help people who are not as fortunate. These experiences have given me useful social skills, however, cooperating with coworkers at a professional level gives me work ethic skills to use for my future professional endeavors. My goal is to refine my work skills prior to professional careers in my desired career path.
