Sherell Barbee is currently the Print Editor at In These Times Magazine. Her writing can be found or is forthcoming in In These Times, The Boston Globe, Passages North, Lit Pub, the Missouri Review blog, and more. She was a 2021 residence fellow at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA).Her undergraduate senior honors thesis won the University of Missouri’s 2018 Thesis Prize. She won first place in the University of Missouri’s 2018 Creative Writing Program Prize in Creative Nonfiction, judged by Jericho Parms. She is a winner of the 2020 Boston In 100 Words competition, judged by Gish Jen, Callie Crossley, and Porsha Olayiwola, Boston’s Poet Laureate. She was an honorable mention for Passages North's 2020 Neutrino Short-Short Prize.
