The KAHRMA(HR) is a not-for-profit (NFP) group of individuals in the Kankakee River Valley engaged in human resource management. We are a SHRM affiliate, our mission is to “Serve the Professional, Advance the Profession.”

My responsibilities as the Human Resources Manager for Indian Oaks Academy are to provide Human Resources management, consultation, and assistance in continuity with corporate human resources policies, programs and objectives. In addition, I administer and monitor compensation, performance management and benefit programs. I manage the site recruiting and staffing process, manage and coordinate all HR responsibilities surrounding work injuries, leaves of absence, disability benefits, work accommodations and restrictions. I develop and monitor an effective site recordkeeping and documentation system for employment data and reporting. I conduct and manage all portions of new hire orientation and employee exit interview processes. Lastly, I supervise the staff that assist in accomplishing all human resource related tasks and goals as well as the Training department. I work with the Training supervisor to ensure our trainings are up-to-date and that we are providing the best training we can provide.

I am responsible for implementing the location’s policies and procedures in compliance with all State, Federal, county and Safety regulations as well as Company policy. Shared responsibility (with other staff personnel) for the development, discipline and guidance of all personnel within the location. Provides and develops many of the safety and HR compliance related training. Manages the benefits, recruiting and policy changes for the location.
