Elected Sheriff of Fayette County, Ohio taking office in January, 1997. Currently serving my fifth term in office. Fayette County is located along interstate 71 approximately half way between Columbus and Cincinnati. The Sheriff's Office serves a population of nearly 29,000 people. Full law enforcement services are provided for incorporated villages and unincorporated area of the county. The city of Washington Court House police department maintains law enforcement functions for the city. The Sheriff's office communication's center provides 9-1-1 and dispatching operations for all public safety agencies, excluding the WCHPD. The PD dispatch mirrors the county's serving as a back up in emergencies. The jail is operated as a full time detention facility with 48 beds. The jail houses male and female inmates, misdemeanor and felony, sentenced and those awaiting trial.

Joined the police department as a jailer/dispatcher before assigned to patrol. In addition to patrol responsibilities spent the last three years prior to being elected Sheriff as the jail administrator. Volunteered as Police Athletic League explorer post co-advisor. Taught the DARE program for six years to the city school system.
