A first year social work student at Singapore University of Social Sciences.I aspire to work in the social sector as it has always been my ambition to be able to work while serving people. I aim to strive and be the best version of myself in a work environment that I can maximise my abilities to the fullest. Through my course of study in Temasek Polytechnic Diploma in Social Sciences in Gerontology, I have studied a broad scope of multidisciplinary modules relevant to the course. This includes topics with relation to gerontology, psychology, sociology, as well as health-related modules. Over the semesters, I have learned the different social, health and psychological aspects that older adults could face in their later years. This knowledge has allowed me to better understand and emphasise with seniors and their lives. As I continue my studies in university as a student majoring in Social Work at SUSS, I will continue to grow in my knowledge and skills related to the social sector and I believe that my studies will equip me well for this sector upon graduation.
