Simply put, I love people and helping make their lives better and healthier. I've had separate careers working with people in very different ways. I'm currently an alert response coach at Livongo/Teladoc Health, supporting members with diabetes to return their blood sugar to normal ranges. This follows nearly 5 years at Noom as a virtual health coach in the Diabetes Prevention Program, empowering people from all over the world to live their best, healthiest lives. I love to dig deep using my passionate interest in health to motivate clients to do the challenging but achievable work of behavior change amidst an attitude of balance and FUN! It's amazing what a bond you can develop with people, virtually, over what is typically a year long journey. I've also worked in tourism, owning my own small business in South Africa as an eco-safari provider. I did every aspect of the client experience from the email introduction until the actual safari, when I turned the wilderness guiding over to my husband, and took over in the kitchen, making 4-star meals, again, for people from all over the world. Many commented that it was the most memorable vacation experience of their lives. We had many return visitors over a 10-year period. I've worked as a personal assistant to a lawyer and later to a doctor, helping them mostly with personal duties but some professional as well. I LOVED that work, and found great fulfillment in making these busy professionals' lives easier in countless practical ways, including help with children, cooking, light house-keeping, grocery shopping, laundry, and some home office work. My original career was in radio and television news in Southern California. I wrote, and delivered newscasts in an extremely fast-paced and high-stress work environment - 10 years in Los Angeles - where I truly thrived in during that season of my life.
