"the AGV guy"Lead engineer responsible for the design, commissioning, and deployment of a large scale AGV fleet in Gigafactory Texas. These AGVs (Automatically Guided Vehicles) autonomously move sub-assemblies, entire vehicles, and people through manual & automated process stations. This AGV fleet was the primary conveyance method for the entire Model Y General Assembly line in GFTX. Brought AGV assembly in-house to prevent 10 week schedule slip on Model Y production. Rapidly set up fabrication area and managed team of 40 people (Tesla employees + contractors), operating from 6am-midnight 7 days a week for 5 months straight. Regularly provided updates directly to Elon. Developed rigorous AGV safety validation procedures, which allowed Tesla to obtain TUV certification on the entire AGV fleet in compliance with ANSI B56.5.
