During my one year at ICA, I took charge of designing posts, producing videos and taking photos for the organisation's social media and marketing campaigns, to gain public trust in the agency. I launched and managed the organisation's instagram account (reached 7k followers within a year), including content strategy and creation. Here, I'm always keeping up with the latest trends, producing videos/graphic content and learning the ropes - as well as assisting with various corporate branding and media engagement projects.

In the one month I was attached with Zone, I developed and managed the website for the company, optimizing the copywriting, graphics and SEO to better reach our audiences. I also created logos, designed infographics and a produced publicity video for product marketing :)

During my final semester of study, I also took up this internship role and was able to learn more about outreach and marketing strategies as I assisted the team with analysis and management of data about customer responses. Being involved in the healthcare sector, I witnessed how programmes were able to impact people's lives - even a simple phone call once a month to someone in need (smoking addiction, deteriorating mental health etc.) could, quite literally, save a life. A nation's wealth lies in the health of its citizens, and it was a valuable experience to be a part of the team that contributes to this cause. Through my involvement in suggestions for changes to various programmes based on the responses, I learnt to analyse trends in marketing. Furthermore, being exposed to communication with members of the public and external vendors (third-party agencies), I was able to improve my communication skills on a professional level.

In a 6 month internship with National Parks Board (NParks), I assisted the conservation team in various activities, ranging from fieldwork (bird ringing, wildlife surveys etc.) to outreach activities. Spending 6 months in close proximity with nature, I came to appreciate its beauty and the importance of conserving the biodiversity in Singapore (and also worldwide). As an outreach intern, I created educational content and assisted in activities/lessons educating kindergarten and primary school students about the environment, and through that, I learnt more about the environment as well. Events management was another skill that I managed to exhibit and improve on as I spearheaded major events for the quarter in Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve - "Welcome Waders!" and "Nature Nurtures" - and led these events to completion, conceptualizing and executing the program, collateral and publicity plans.
