Shermine Sawalha is a Visual and Performance Artist, Producer, Designer, Curator of Arts and Culture, and an Entrepreneur. Educated in Computational Arts, Design & Technologies, and Contemporary Dance, Shermine delved from one world to the next broadening her knowledge in the arts by connecting her education in the creation of new interactive performances and audience participatory works. In 2012, she visited her family and friends in Jordan, and realized the potential of the arts and music scene in the MENA region, and the lack of platforms and opportunities that existed there at the time. Without hesitation, Shermine began her research and contacted over 2500 artists in the region, to better understand their needs and what they and she are able to offer. She launched The TBA Collective and Malahi Entertainment to be able to best serve and support the arts community, and started creating platforms for the Arts in Jordan while creating partnerships with fellow dreamers across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine & the Occupied Territories, UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Syria and Tunisia. Shermine’s roster grew rapidly as well as the scene and fanbase around her work. She started bridging between music, dance, design and technology by producing experiences for the public through the creation of a variety of shows, platforms, exhibitions, and festivals that catered to thousands of viewers and fans across the MENA region. Shermine curated and produced What The Hills?!!, Beaches & Bonfires, The Word is Yours Festival, Fast Forward, Kazdara: The Art Walk, FESTBAL, Sarab and more.Beside working with regional artists, Shermine created touring rigs for international artists to start performing in the MENA region. She booked, managed and produced events as well as tour management for artists such as Daddy G from Massive Attack, Nicolas Jaar, Nightmares on Wax, and Dam Funk, as well as producing a major event for RUSS at the Roman Theater in 2019, which hosted 5000 people. Shermine’s extensive study of the arts and entertainment industry has helped cater for the drives and needs of the artists and the audiences around the world. Shermine spent her whole career creating communities and building playgrounds for underground culture to thrive in while educating the public through entertainment.
