Legal Assistant
Current• Prepare legal papers and correspondence for attorneys; • Edit and finalize documents, including correspondence, memoranda, and pleadings;• Provide accurate work product by proofreading documents for accuracy and follow-up, as well as, coordinating completion of tasks;• Organize, maintain, and file documents in electronic filing system;• Electronic filings in Appellate, Federal, and Texas state courts;• Review Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedures for filing compliance;• Assist with firm proformas by reviewing, editing, and sending finalized invoices to clients; • Coordinate meetings, conference rooms, food service, and video/telephone/Zoom conferences;• Maintain attorney calendars, and apprises attorneys of their schedules in advance;• Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings;• Coordinate delivery of documents as appropriate;• Prepare notebooks/binders for attorneys;• Coordinate travel arrangements by securing air, hotel and car reservations for lawyers and clients;• Create, submit, and track expense reimbursements;• Create, maintain, and update client administrative files; and• Process incoming and outgoing mail and distribute promptly upon receipt.
